How Mindful Calligraphy Works As a Stress Reliever

Every weekend I try something new and last weekend I didn’t find anything attractive to do. Therefore, I simply took a piece of paper and started writing a few phrases with calligraphy. While doing it, I observed that calligraphy helps in combating stress.  Mindful calligraphy has the power to change distress into eustress.

Mindfulness with calligraphy makes us feel more balanced. And the great thing about practicing calligraphy with mindfulness is that you can practice it anywhere and anytime you want. You can practice it near the seashore, beach, workplace, in the mountains, or anywhere you want.

What is Calligraphy?

Calligraphy is an art of handwriting in a more traditional way. Artists use bold style pens to get brilliant dense stroke and characteristics. Calligraphy makes words look more amazing and attractive.

Do you know that the art of calligraphy comes with natural mindful qualities that do not need to require any extra qualification or expert? Calligraphy helps us in focusing, slowing down our breathing, and in return provides self-satisfaction.

It allows us to focus more on ourselves, our creative thinking, and our thoughts. Taking it to a different level of positivity, mindful calligraphy writing helps us in achieving those dense, super satisfying, and consistent strokes on the page. Our hand gets into the rhythm of our thoughts which helps in decreasing stress.

With writing, we learn to let go of negative thoughts and begin to focus one thing at a time. While practicing mindfulness and calligraphy make sure you’re going smooth and slow and let the ink flow naturally on the page. Mindfulness when combined with calligraphy helps us to slow down our whole body. It brings us into a relaxed state wherein everything happens organically. This eventually leads to self-satisfaction with positivity.

Stress and Mindful Calligraphy

Mindfulness is a proven way to reduce the levels of stress. When I started researching how mindful calligraphy works for combating stress I found that it reduces stress because with the strokes of the pen and bold writing we intend to get lost in our thoughts which in return reduces stress and maintains the equilibrium of mindfulness.

Dedicating sometime towards self-care is not selfish. Self-care helps us in improving mental, spiritual, and physical health. And mindful calligraphy is the most attractive way towards self-care and self-satisfaction.
