Thinking, rethinking and then overthinking creates fire in the head. For example, you are up with a particular thought in mind. Then you begin connecting it with other things leading to some other and a mole becomes mountain very soon.

If the thought was negative that you began with, you end up having so many doubts and a multitude of fears.

What To Do? When such a situation comes up and you have identified it, just flip your mood with some songs, call your friends, go out for an ice-cream or walk with your pet. Things that make the mood better can definitely change the process you have been churning yourself into.

2. Enjoy The Present

Often, we fall in the trap of future and past while keeps regretting on so many things. But are you even thinking about what you are doing now? You could be having a cup of coffee now or your kids are playing around you. Have you thought about not thinking anything for the moment but simply enjoy what you are doing as of now?

What To Do? Usually, overthinking doesn’t let you enjoy what is available in your hands now. So try out some meditation or deep breathing exercises. These steps let you free from the clutches of so many thoughts and provide a self-time. This time can even be enjoyed looking at trees around, falling snow or birds chirping. Do anything but thinking! Try and let us know if it worked for you.

3. Do Something

Many times we fall in our bed for longer hours and lie on the bed with the phone, thinking unstoppably. Now tell us how will you motivate yourself? Keep the lack of motivation at one end for now and get off the bed/chair.

What To Do? You can hit the gym nearby, go out with friends, playing with kids, read a book, hit the gaming arena, photography or skating. Open your eyes wide and you can find a plethora of options for yourself. Moreover, doing something would give you confidence and success in return. Let’s kill depression or anxiety!

4. Focus On One Thing

The golden rule of winning your own game is Focus. Deviating our mind from here and there uplifts depression or anxiety. Set up a goal for yourself, it could be making a PowerPoint presentation even, and focus on its content, beautification and value addition. This focus will let you enjoy the present and results would itself be most amazing.

What To Do? Focusing could be a typical task. But the path-breaking solution is thinking about your goal and work constantly towards it without thinking about what others are up to. You never know what new could be discovered with self-focus. Don’t worry if you ever fail because success is not so far away now!

5. Praise Yourself

“Well done, my boy” or “You are beautiful darling”! Praising yourself is such a special tonic to boost confidence, we strongly recommend it. If a small task has been achieved by you, simply tell yourself that it was done great.

In case this task wasn’t done right, tell yourself you can do this better once again.

All we are telling you that 80% of the times, depression or anxiety comes from our heads only. If we do not rely on ourselves, who else would? So keep yourself up straight and love yourself each day.
