Self Pity Are you the Victim or The Survivor

“Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have—life itself.” ~These are the words of Walter Anderson

Some of our life experiences are painful and adverse due to which we wonder why all this doesn’t happen to others. Unfortunately, life isn’t black or white it is not fair. Awful things happen. Tragedies affect most of our lives at some point. But when we let these negative things affect our thinking and make us feel bad, we start doing self-pity.

So, whenever you find yourself complaining about things happening with you or you think you are the only one suffering remember you are playing the victim. This is when you need to stop and shift your attention to the things you could and are thankful about. You are a mentally strong person and you get past self-pity.

Remember there’s no rule that makes a person strong mentally into you and your thinking so just focus on it. You are a champion and there’s no need of Self-pity.
