Being manipulated and played feels so bad, imagine being manipulated by psychopaths (it’s double the pain).

Experts are still studying psychopaths and their traits. Many have claimed that the things that we know about psychopaths are just the tip of the iceberg. However, we should know at least they have been uncovered.

Psychopaths are very clever and do weird things to get their way. However, it might work for them but the one on the receiving end is for sure not going to benefit from it. Therefore, it’s important to know the weird things psychopaths do.

Let’s have a look at them;

1. They measure their word before they speak:

psychopaths are very calculative, they will never just blabber words out of their mouths. They think a lot before speaking, and every word is measured so that their intentions are not clear but the result is in accordance with their intentions.

2. They have a flat body language:

since psychopaths experience shallow emotions it is not easy for them to have different body languages for different situations. However, they do put on false body language so that they can keep their deception on.

3. They use their charm as a weapon:

psychopaths come across as extremely charming because they use their charm to deceive people. They use their charm to manipulate people and trick them into doing things the psychopathic way.

4. They take advantage of people for their benefit:

psychopaths do not think twice because using people for their benefit. They are so selfish; they look at other people as objects who they can use to reach their goals.

5. Loyalty is not in their dictionary:

one of the weird things psychopaths do is show their loyalty only till the time the other person is benefiting them. Once you’re value drops in their eyes, the loyalty vanishes and they drop you like a hot potato!

  • When psychopaths are intimated by someone, they generally show their emotions through anger. In some cases, they might also show extreme sadness to manipulate the person they are intimated by. 
  • Psychopaths are completely different from normal people, they don’t understand someone else’s struggles. 
  • Psychopaths are born cheaters, they are likely to have multiple relationships, even after getting the love or affection they need. 
  • Psychopaths can be seen sharing their partner’s income with someone else. Such behaviors lead to the highest divorce rates among them. 

Treatment for Psychopaths 

Research shows that psychopathy cannot be cured completely; however, the negative urges, symptoms, and behaviors leading to danger can be managed. Below are some of the effective treatment options for psychopathy: 

1. Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is known to be one of the effective treatment options for managing the symptoms of psychopathy. This therapy can help break down the negative behaviors after understanding the causes. Other therapy options may include schema therapy (ST) to understand the influences of childhood and to build a therapist-client relationship. 

2. Medications

Medications such as antipsychotics, psychostimulants, or mood stabilizers are prescribed per symptoms and their severity. Other medications to treat thoughts and triggers can also be prescribed by a registered psychotherapist. 

3. Other treatment options

Other treatment options such as emotional training, skills training, and self-help training can be given to bring the personality under control.
