Seek Support before It’s Too Late

We have been mentioning in most of our blogs, stories, and webinars that “It’s okay to not be okay.” But, it’s completely wrong to not seek support when you actually are in need of support. In our recent blogs, we mentioned that depression does not have a face and your close ones will never get to know about it until you will decide to communicate. Do you know communication is the only key to kill the monster? Yes, you are in pain… talk… you had a bad day…talk…someone broke your heart… talk it out…someone tried to manipulate you… talk!!!

Remember, communication is the only key, talk with your family members, friends, or closed ones before it’s too late. Don’t let the monster win on the basis of the silence you have been holding on! Through this blog, I am going to highlight the importance of seeking help when you go through the roller coaster of bad phases.

Seek Support before It’s Too Late

1. When you have no idea what is going on!

Whenever something goes wrong in our lives, we actually have no idea what is going on. Sometimes, we also start blaming ourselves for the deeds. No, it was not your fault…understand this. Sometimes you do not have to do the root cause analysis of everything.

All you have to do is… Calm down, relax, and call your closed one! You can talk about whatever happened and what went wrong. Additionally, if you are not in a state to talk just call your friend at your place and seek support until and unless you are ready to talk. But, do not forget to talk! Communication is the only key.

2. When your close ones live in different cities!

If your close ones live at distance or in a different city and you don’t want to bother them. Isn’t it! No, you are wrong please understand that they are your closed ones and they wish to support you. Therefore, do not hesitate, call them, and ask for their support. Tell them about everything, tell them you are alone, and you need their presence.

3. When you are out of options!

Sometimes it happens that we are not left with the options, we get trapped with the monster. But, remember we have to kill the monster. Therefore, whenever you feel like there is no other option than this… hold on you might be wrong here. Because every problem has a solution and every maze puzzle comes with an exit way… all you need to do is to look for the solution instead of giving up.

Don’t know how to look for solutions… seek support from your family or your partner! They are always ready to help.

4. When you don’t want to be alone!

Me being an introvert, I do not prefer to talk it out until and unless I am ready. But when I do, I make sure that I communicate every issue of mine. Similarly, it happens with most of us that we do not wish to talk but we do want someone to hold our hands. In such situations, call your friends or family, hold their hand, hug them, and let them know that you are in trouble. Right now, you need their presence. Just please do not isolate yourself… surround yourself with the people who support you.

5. When you feel like a mess!

Maybe in bad times, you need support to do the chores or help you to reach the grocery store. Or maybe you need a friend to visit the doc with you. Or maybe you need someone to go on a walk with you.

But you don’t want to trouble anyone. Please understand that it is completely okay to ask for a hand, especially in those times when you are not in your control. I understand that being an adult is challenging and messy… but we all need support. Therefore, let them know that you are going through something bad and you are in need of extra support.

Seeking help is not a bad thing… instead, it’s a self-healing process. Therefore, do not feel shy or left out to talk about your issues or insecurities. Please talk or seek support before it’s too late!
