How to be consistent in life

Consistency leads us to a happy, positive, and balanced life. The power of consistency provides us the strategy to achieve long-term goals in professional as well as personal life. Consistency is the toughest thing to adapt in life, but once adapted consistency can provide emotional intelligence as well. Being consistent or self-consistency is really important when you want to bring specific changes in life. Personally speaking, I got to know the real meaning when I really wanted to lose weight and I realized that consistency is really important to achieve this long-term goal.

If you’re also looking for improvements in your life, this blog might help you to maintain consistency in your life. In this blog, I have listed 5 steps to become consistent in your life which are tested and proved to be effective.

How to Become Consistent: 5 Steps

1. F.O.C.U.S- Follow One Course Until Success

Focus

Define your goal and build a system to accomplish the goal such as tasks, routines, people, consequences, events, tools, and rewards. Since I wanted to lose weight, I decided to wake at 6 AM in the morning and practice a 60-minute workout routine. So, whenever I completed 6 days with the workout I rewarded myself with a truffle treat.

Similarly, define your goal and make a schedule and try to follow it. Whenever you accomplish a goal, remember to treat yourself. Whenever you break a rule, follow the consequences guideline.

2. Remove Self-Doubt from the vocabulary

Remove Self-Doubt

While you are working towards your goals, it might happen that you will go through self-doubt. When self-doubt comes in our mind, it usually works like a “consistency destroyer”. So, basically self-doubt is kind of a grasshopper that can ruin all of your hard work within minutes. Suzy Kassem rightly quoted that “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.” therefore, make sure that you completely eliminate self-doubt from your life.

You can also write, “I will not dwell on self-doubt until after I’ve completed all my process goals” and paste the writing on a wall. So that whenever you begin to experience self-doubt, you can read the quote and regain the energy to accomplish your goals.

3. Keep doing it, until you reach the end-point

Keep doing it

While on the road of achieving long-term goals, you might also face those days when you will feel lazy and giving up. Prepare yourself specifically for those days and do not give up even if you feel like not doing it.

If you will rise in this phase, no other negative energy can destroy your hard work. Remember; do not ruin all of your hard work for short-term feelings.

4. Identity: Become your own favorite person

Become your own favorite person

Everyone follows a leader to accomplish the life-goals. So, how’s the idea of becoming your own favorite person which people can follow and set new boundaries.

Simply, write down all the qualities and personalities, you think that your favorite person should have and try to become that person only. Focus on building your own unique identity which motivates and inspires others as well.

5. Be Consistent for consistent improvements

When you will try to build your own identity with consistency, you will have to improve yourself on the basis of consistency. Because, consistency is also built on hope and when you become your favorite person, success can be easily defined. Mother Teresa rightly quoted,” Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
